Microfiber is a kind of high quality, high performance synthetic fiber material. The diameter of such fibers is extremely small, usually less than 1 micron (or "micron fiber"), which is a few tens of times the diameter of a human hair. The material is mainly made from polyester fibers (such as polyester) and polyamide fibers (such as nylon), but can also be made from other high-performance polymers.
Advantages and disadvantages of microfiber and pure cotton:
1. Softness: Microfiber softness is higher than pure cotton, feel more comfortable, and anti-wrinkle effect is also very good.
2. Water absorption: Pure cotton is more absorbent than microfiber, and moisture absorption and perspiration are better. And microfibers usually have a better blocking effect on moisture, so it can make people feel a little stuffy.
3. Air permeability: Pure cotton feels very comfortable to wear in summer due to the good air permeability of the fiber itself. The permeability of microfibers is relatively poor, and it is relatively hot to wear in summer.
4. Warmth: The warmth of microfiber is better than that of pure cotton, and it will be warmer than pure cotton in winter. But at the same time because of its water resistance is also better, so there is no pure cotton breathability, resulting in wearing will be more uncomfortable.
Both microfiber and pure cotton have their own advantages, and microfiber is not easy to deform and suitable for cold winter. In the hot summer, or pure cotton is more comfortable and breathable, and the wear life is longer.
